Seasoned Lamb Burgers with Organic Spices
These juicy lamb burgers are packed with flavor from a blend of organic spices and fresh herbs. Perfect for a quick and healthy meal, they’re rich in nutrients and pair beautifully with a simple salad or roasted vegetables. The organic spices enhance the natural richness of the lamb while keeping the recipe clean and non-toxic.
Ingredients:
- 1 lb ground New Zealand grass-fed, grass-finished lamb
- 1 tsp organic garlic powder
- 1 tsp organic onion powder
- 1 tsp organic smoked paprika
- ½ tsp organic cumin
- ½ tsp organic dried oregano
- ½ tsp organic ground black pepper
- ½ tsp sea salt (or to taste)
- 1 tbsp organic fresh parsley, finely chopped
- 1 tbsp organic fresh mint, finely chopped (optional, for a fresh twist)
- 1 tbsp ghee (for cooking, if pan-searing)
Instructions:
- Prepare the Lamb Mixture:
In a large bowl, combine the ground lamb with garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, cumin, oregano, black pepper, sea salt, parsley, and mint. Gently mix the ingredients with your hands until the spices are evenly distributed throughout the meat, being careful not to overwork the mixture. - Form the Patties:
Divide the lamb mixture into four equal portions and shape them into burger patties about ¾ inches thick. With your thumb, make a slight indentation in the center of each patty to prevent puffing during cooking. - Cook the Burgers:
- Grill: Preheat your grill to medium-high heat. Cook the lamb patties for 4-5 minutes on each side or until they reach your desired level of doneness (medium-rare to medium is ideal for lamb).
- Pan-sear: Heat the ghee in a skillet over medium heat. Once hot, add the patties and cook for 4-5 minutes per side, adjusting the heat as needed to prevent burning.
- Serve:
Serve the seasoned lamb burgers on grain-free buns, lettuce wraps, or alongside your favorite roasted vegetables. Top with fresh tomato slices, red onions, or a dollop of homemade tzatziki for an extra flavor.
Optional Toppings:
- Fresh arugula or baby spinach
- Sliced avocado
- Greek yogurt
These seasoned lamb burgers are perfect for a family meal or backyard cookout. They offer a healthy and flavorful alternative to conventional beef burgers. Enjoy!
